BEN makes us "CHILL"-WELL

CHELSEA BEAT WEST-HAM 2-1 IN YET ANOTHER CLOSE ENCOUNTER TO GET THE 3 POINTS AT HOME

"THIAGO SILVA, KOULIBALY, CUCURELLA, KOVACIC, PULISIC, CUCURELLA AGAIN AND BACK TO THIAGO SILVA", this was literally the commentators' script in the first half. Yes indeed the score card says CHELSEA were the better team but in no way was there a better team today. 10 corners in first half and absolutely nothing from it. West Ham had only Antonio in
the attacking half of the pitch and gets a corner and just like that west ham go in front because of "shambolic" (yes there is no Chelsea fan who doesn't follow the Angry Rantman) defending. Pulisic and Sterling were the ones up front in a new 5-3-2 formation that had Havertz on the bench and KOVACIC was the only one working hard enough in the midfield. YET, the chances created were very less and barely half chances that had zero intent to be converted into goals. Sterling did pose some threat but Declan Rice made it seem easy and had him well under control.

THE gaffer knew he had to make changes, thus came on Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Mason Mount. But credit where its due, the only person who was just ready to go and get the game for the blues was BEN CHILWELL. OUT OF NOTHING, A BRILLIANT TOUCH AND of course a defensive blunder from West Ham that provided him with a quarter of an opportunity to score and he made no mistake. Such precision and composure. A player not having started for 5 games now, didn't seem like it at all. The positivity and the charisma of his brilliant personality is something that everyone can look up to and admire.
Soon after the equaliser, he was there to give an assist off a ball from Armando Broja and left it on a silver platter for Kai Havertz to score, and credit where it's due, he made no mistake as well. But it was BEN CHILWELL who saved the blues today.
Just when everyone thought the game was well and truly finished, a poor header back pass from Reece James gave West Ham a lifeline and Bowen intercepts the ball meant for the keeper, there is contact, as MENDY pushes the ball away. Cornet quickly rushes to the ball and strikes one to the top bins and WEST HAM HAD EASILY GOT THEIR EQUALISER LATE LATE INTO STOPPAGE TIME. But the contact between Mendy and Bowen was looked into (in my opinion it was a 50-50 and since it was on the GK, the ref just had to give a foul) and the goal was ruled out, CHELSEA KEEPING THE LEAD INTACT BECAUSE OF LUCK ONLY. Fair enough to call this game a London Derby though, the game was close enough to be one.
CLEARLY THERE WERE MORE NEGATIVES TO LEARN FROM IN THE GAME THAN POSITIVES BUT INDEED THE 3 POINTS WILL PROVE TO BE INFLUENTIAL TO IMPROVE THE CONFIDENCE AND MORALE OF THE PLAYERS GOING AHEAD.

LACK OF INTENT, ATTACKING FOWARDS HAS BEEN THE HUGEST DRAWBACK UNDER TUCHEL. Something that CHELSEA must look to EVERTON FOR INSPIRATION. 0-0 AGAINST LIVERPOOL AT THE MERSEYSIDE DERBY AND EVERTON HAD THEIR SPIRITS HIGH UP AND SHOWED GREAT ATTITUDE GIVING A FIGHT AND HOLDING THEM AT 0-0.KUDOS TO FRANK LAMPARD AND TEAM.
